Java Server Faces (JSF) and Python at the next meet

The expert session for the next IndicThreads Java meet is about Java Server Faces (JSF). Java enterprise web application are slowly but surely moving towards Java Server Faces (JSF) based User Interfaces. Swarraj Kulkarni will take a close look at JSF and discuss how best to adopt the technology.

Java.sun.com has this to say about JSF “JavaServer Faces technology simplifies building user interfaces for JavaServer applications. Developers of various skill levels can quickly build web applications by: assembling reusable UI components in a page; connecting these components to an application data source; and wiring client-generated events to server-side event handlers.”

Swarraj works as a Sr.Architect at the Java Center of Excellence at Cognizant Technology Solutions. Swarraj has 14 years of industry experience and his
technology experience ranges from Microcontroller based embedded systems, Object Oriented languages, Databases
and Wireless applications. He has been working in Java / J2EE since their initial versions.

The JSF session will be followed by a Pune Python meet organized by PythonThreads.com. Sandeep Gohad will speak on the basics of the Python language, sectors in which Python is being used and about using and promoting Python. His session will be followed by an open discussion on Python.

Considering the growing importance of scripting languages like Python, awareness of Python is today a “must” for even hard core Java folks.

IndicThreads.com Java meets are held on the last Saturday of each month. The Python meets are also expected to follow the same schedule.
